At the end of our previous Subscription period, which was in February, we were very sad to bid farewell (we don't do goodbyes..) to 6 of our valued members, which included the one person who had been central in the creation of our group back in 2018. Of course, these were sad times but we understood the reasons behind their individual needs to move on, all very valid.
That meant we were left with a rather large space within our membership which needed filling so we set about doing just that, with a flash campaign of promotion in the local area, which included a couple of local online forums and newsletters. This has generated an overwhelming response and our website received a record number of hits over the course of 1 weekend. As a result of this, we have since welcomed 4 new members to our group and have a couple of potential new players scheduled in for their free taster session. With this wonderful situation we find ourselves in, we find it necessary to temporarily close our membership, but if however, you are keen to join us, and have played before so you have a basic understanding of the sport and its rules, we invite you to join our waiting list. Once a place becomes available, all new players are offered a no obligation free taster, enabling them to get an insight into us, our players and protocols and establish whether they and us (this is a 2 way process, equally from our perspective,) are a good fit.
We believe our group offers excellent value for money, with sessions currently costing less than £3 a week, providing 2 hours of play utilising 3 courts and an average of 14 partners/ opponents.
And let's not forget our Social Events calendar. We recently hosted a Ten Pin bowling evening for 5 of our members which was a great night. We are currently planning one of our ever popular curry nights and our annual pick 'n' mix which is our big Summer gathering involving a picnic, a rounders match and evening drinks.
